A Quinta das Buganvílias retrata as vivências rurais do princípio do séc. XX. A actual geração deu-lhe uma utilidade turística, conservando a traça original, dotando as instalações de conforto numa perspectiva de turismo sustentável. A Quinta das Buganvílias está localizada na ilha do Faial, a 9 kms da cidade da Horta. É um espaço amplo e privado, onde os hóspedes podem usufruir da frescura das árvores, do sabor dos frutos tropicais, da beleza das flores e do silêncio, tudo protegido por «muros» de camélias de lustrosa folhagem. A estrutura que ainda hoje existe é a mostra das quintas de antigamente em que as famílias quase se bastavam a si próprias.
Description
Quinta das Buganvílias illustrates day-to-day life of a rural family of the island in the beginning of the 20th century. The present generation turned Quinta into a guest house, preserving the original infrastructures, while favouring comfort and sustainable tourism. It is located in Faial island, 5.6 miles from Horta city. Quinta das Buganvílias (bougainvillea farmhouse) is a farm where guests can enjoy exotic trees, tropical fruits, the beauty of the flowers and the silence of nature, all surrounded by camellia “walls”. The existing infrastructure reminds the farms from the past, where the families were almost self-sufficient. Happy days will be waiting for you.
